In 1965 a New Yorker named Alan Stillman purchased a bar located on 1st Avenue and 63rd Street and named it T.G.I. Friday’s. The TGI stood for “Thank God It’s Friday”, a somewhat irreverent way to celebrate the end of the working week.
Here at Sheep Street Baptist Church, we have adopted the expression and changed its meaning from that intended by Mr Stillman to making Friday the day that the women in the Church come together, not only to thank God for Friday, but for every day which we enjoy in our Lord Jesus. We meet not just to thank God but also to petition Him for the needs of our congregation, of our fellow churches, for our town and for our nation.
Why not join us to thank God, not just because its Friday, but for all his Bountiful Love. Dates of our meetings are given below.
